Alison Doody

Alison Doody is an Irish actor and model. She was born on November 11, 1966. After her first small performance as an archaeologist Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in 1989, her role as Elsa Schneider - a Nazi-sympathizing character in A View to a Kill (Bond film 1985) and then went on to play the Nazisympathizing Elsa Schneider. Siobhan in A Prayer for the Dying, Charlotte in Taffin and Rebecca Flannery Major League II. Doody started modeling after being invited by an experienced photographer. This led to a successful career as a commercial model. Doody tried to stay clear of glamorous and sexy roles, this was the principle she applied in her acting. When she was dragged into the sights of the casting director of an upcoming James Bond film she accepted an unimportant role as Jenny Flex in 1985's A View to a Kill. Doody was named as one the twelve most promising actors of the year in 1986 in John Willis Screen World. 38. Doody is only 18 when she played the part of Doody in the film A prayer for the dying (1987), starring Mickey Rourke, is the tiniest Bond girl to be seen. Another early movie was a small part in the role of IRA Siobhan Doovan, a member of the IRA in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) which was a film starring Mickey Rourke. Doody played a non-speaking part in the 1987 film adaptation The Secret Garden appearing as Archibald Craven's wife Lilias in his dream. Her first lead role was in a 1988 episode of Jim Henson fantasy series The Storyteller in the role of Sapsorrow opposite John Hurt Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders. She starred alongside Pierce Brosnan, in the 1988 film Taffin. Then she took her biggest role yet as Austrian Archaeologist and Nazisympathiser Dr. Elsa Schneider playing alongside Harrison Ford. Doody has collaborated with three James Bond actors. Doody played the role in the British series Selling Hitler with Jonathan Pryce. The film was based on The Hitler Diaries publication scam. She then moved to Hollywood. She starred as Flannery on the screen in Major League II, opposite Charlie Sheen. After a long absence from the screen Doody was back in the acting world and acted in a tiny role in 2003's British comedy film The Actors with Michael Caine as her character in the award ceremony scene. Her roles included the TV movie adaptation of King Solomon's Mines in 2004, a booklet about the Holocaust as well as the short film Benjamin's Struggle in 2005. Doody had a minor role in Danny Dyer's film The Rapture (2010). Later, she guest-starred in the RTE the medical drama The Clinic. She was scheduled to also appear in an adaptation in 2011 of the horror classic The Asphyx. However, this project fell through. Pam Jefferson is her role in the E4 Comedy Drama Beaver Falls' first of two seasons. In 2014 she appeared in We Still Kill the Old Way.
